Optima AGM Battery
Optima AGM (absorbed glass mat) batteries are built with patented Spiralcell construction. Optima makes AGM batteries in three categories: Yellow Top, Blue Top and Red Top. Blue Top AGM batteries are marketed for boat applications and are deep cycle batteries with the exception of the 34M marine starter battery. The Optima Yellow Top AGM battery series is Optima's general purpose deep cycle AGM line. The Optima Red Top AGM line is designed for SIL use (starting, ignition and lighting.) The Red Top AGM batteries are not deep cycle batteries.Optima AGM batteries are available with SAE posts or threaded stainless steel stud connectors, or both. Optima group 31 AGM batteries are sealed and maintenance free but their vents have nipples which will accept a hose for remote venting, allowing their use in sealed areas.
